San Miguel Elementary PTA

Making moments like these, together. Hacemos momentos como estos, juntos.

Welcome!

YOU are an important part of our vibrant, diverse community and we are so glad you are here!

We believe that everyone has something to contribute, whether through time, talent, monetary contributions, or an idea of how we can best serve our community.

We look forward to getting to know you and to working together to help all children realize their full potential.

What is a PTA?

PTA stands for “Parent Teacher Association.” We are a volunteer-run, not-for-profit group that organizes community events, supports educational opportunities for all students, fosters school-family connections through volunteering opportunities, and provides critical resources and materials for our school community.

We strive to be a place for everyone and to work in support of our whole school community — always seeking inclusion, respecting diversity and promoting equity.

What does PTA do?

Community Events: Each year, we organize, fund and execute events for the whole school community, such as multicultural night, Winterland, and welcome playdates for incoming families.

Programs:

  • Field Trips: Ensuring that students from every classroom have the opportunity to take field trips each year

  • Assemblies: Planning 3-4 assemblies a year

  • Extracurricular Programs: Organizing 3 sessions of after school activities each year and providing scholarships so that financial means is not a barrier to participation

School Support & Supplies:

  • Providing teacher grants and classroom materials

  • Organizing appreciation events during teacher and staff appreciation week and throughout the year

  • Advocating for teacher and staff needs
